The family and I were watching a Chinese movie today that my mom bought in yet another one of those seedy Chinatown movie-dealers called 14 Swords (...or something like that). And over the course of two hours, I catalogued these things:
- some major Disney's Aladdin channeling
- Cloud's Fenrir/buncha swords all crammed together into one neat little box
- Captain Jack Sparrow (if Captain Jack Sparrow were also a pornographic cowboy with some killer abs--oh and asian, obviously)
- "I'll be here / I'll be waiting here if you come / I promise"
...And probably more, but I'm oddly keen on going to bed at a decent hour tonight, so I'm not really going to over-think this one. All said and done, weak premise, lots to keep me occupied. A night well spent. :)
Meanwhile last night involved actual activities that took me out of the house, gasp shock! Yes, I know, I'm surprised I have a life too.
It started out with dinner out with the boyfriend at an Indian restaurant we discovered not too long ago nearby that is made of yumminess. He ate a lot. I watched in awe.
Then it was a trek to the bookstore (we were too full to wander about the carnival nearby, even though pretty pretty lights, they're so tempting) to see whether or not a new book had come out in paperback yet (it wasn't) and then the boyfriend bought me a book. :O I felt very guilty.
Afterward, it looked like we were set for a geek-out glory of a night. We grabbed Envy then hauled off to Ronsen's to play Killing Floor. After only a few games, new plans were made that didn't involve zombies and death: pool!
...Suffice to say, like skating, I'm not very good at pool. It took a great deal of concentration, and much overlooking of mistakes from the boys (as when I hit the cue ball off the table completely with my stellar pole cue ways) to get through what I did. Shockingly enough, actual contact was occasionally made with the things I was pointing that little white ball towards.
Oh well. Even if I don't get to practice, at least now I have a better idea as to the rules. :) Also: it was fun. Next time though, leaving off the heeels. Ow-w-w-w!
