WHO WANTS TO HELP?!
I'm trying to decide the setlist for the PV-showing I need to do for my panel... and I'm going for at least one from each album. This is what I have so far and I need some help in deciding for the albums with more than one song listed. ^^;;

Dune - As if in a dream
Tierra - Blurry Eyes
heavenly - and She Said
True - Lies and Truth
HEART - niji
ark - forbidden lover/DIVE TO BLUE/Pieces
ray - kasou
ectomorphed works - trick [new2 wave of japanese heavy metal mix]
REAL - finale/STAY AWAY
Clicked Singles Best 13 - Anemone
SMILE - READY, STEADY, GO

Then I'm going to add in Killing Me, New World, and Jyojyoushi.

Does that seem too long? It seems so to me. *bites lip* I might cut out some, I don't know. Then one TV performance, one live.

THE NEPENTHES (ms 2000.09.01)
Music Fighter 01.07.2005 jmr punk-en-ciel feat.punk aoki - Budokan [arc subs]

And... is anyone nice enough to clip the Music Fighter one so that it's just the performance? Whenever I try to clip anything, the smaller clip itself is bigger than the original file. ~.~;;;

What do you think?

Current Mood: nervousnervous
Current Music: L'Arc - HONEY

That seems kind of long...might skip "and She Said" and "Lies and Truth" ... or keep Lies and skip "Niji" ... but can't really skip Niji completely...spoo...

For ark ... Pieces, though it's hard and I want to say DIVE TO BLUE just for Hyde bouncing around in the background ... but Pieces is the more artistic PV of the two, really. If you're even going for that angle. If not, then DIVE TO BLUE.

For REAL ... finale, hands down. I adore STAY AWAY (oh god, Yuki's so flexible *wibbles*), but finale is just ... yes. Unskippable.

Moo, maybe only bits of them? Oh goddess of mercy, Saki, if you'd asked me earlier in the week, I'd've happily volunteered to do video editing ... but I can't do anything today but dishes and packing. *sobs* At least not until after sunset, and that'd be cutting it awfully fine, considering I haven't tried making clips with my sugar.

Hmm...if you're on right now, tag me on IM? We can debate your proceedures in real time - I'm on lunch break. ~_^

wow i just happen to agree with the person above.

ark: pieces b/c the PV tells an awesome story and the music itself is really nice
Real: since i chose ballad for ark, i will choose stay away. plus stay away PV is awesome! not many can beat that.

if you want to cut songs, i will but lies and truth, trick (is there PV for this?), and killing me. that's just me tho.

I was thinking of cutting out Anemone and Trick.

I oddly enough want to keep in Killing Me because... hmm.... *shrug* it's one of the best-quality PVs I have? @.@;;

A L'ARC SET LIST CAN NEVER BE TOO LONG! NEVER!

Ahem. The main thing you want to avoid is showing similar things, which will only bore the audience. I recommend showing "Dune" instead of "As if in a dream," if only to compare how "visual" (oh gord! the V word for L'Arc!) L'arc was during their indies days to how they are now as a more visually subdued, yet still extremely energetic band.

Also, you may want to only include "Dive to Blue" in ark-era. Most people find that one the most entertaining, and it shows the greatest contrast between your selection of "Kasou" in ray (light pop-rock vs. swooping pseudo-goth). "Ready Steady Go" also might be a tad on the repetitive side; not everyone can appreciate rapid-fire shots of L'Arc's faces. But I guess it's better than "Hitomi no Juunin." I think you could get away with showing "Jiyuu e no Shoutai" as 2004-era L'Arc, since it was part of the Smile Tour.

I get rambley when it comes to L'Arc. There's too much love to fill this comment box!

I just figured RSG would make a lot more sense to show at an anime convention where it's possibly one of the only L'Arc songs some people know. >.>;; What with the whole FMA-lovin'.
[dIdjuitkrabs]: perv kenbijuarukei on May 26th, 2005 11:42 pm (UTC)
That makes sense, especially since it's on Adult Swim. I just personally don't like the P.V. because it was such a let-down when it first came out.
Stephaniemirroredsakura on May 26th, 2005 11:53 pm (UTC)
It was. The chibis helped. Slightly. But... for a "come-back video" it was a rather weak one.

I'd just rather not need to talk whilst a video is playing. As Selah says... that would be sacrilege!

And you should beat anyone who so much as whispers in the audience. I went to a panel once (alright, every single J-rock/pop panel I've been to I do this), was a complete ass throughout the whole thing, but when they showed a HYDE P.V., I shushed the crowd.

Another something I wanted to ask--should I segue into mentions of their solo projects if the going gets rough/they get bored of history class? Is that reasonable sounding?
[dIdjuitkrabs]: perv kenbijuarukei on May 27th, 2005 12:12 am (UTC)
Hm... It's almost like you can't NOT mention the solo projects because of the sudden gap in L'Arc history. Mention how they seperated in 2001, then reconviened by 2003 to produce stronger (arguably), more mature music. But still, I'd only touch briefly on the solo projects (same with the whole Sakura leaving thing), mostly focussing on L'Arc as a band.
Stephanie: lirimaer hellomirroredsakura on May 27th, 2005 12:21 am (UTC)
So no showing of solo PVs. Okay.

IMHO.

Stephaniemirroredsakura on May 27th, 2005 02:04 am (UTC)
When you say "so many people" you mean... three. ;P

Thank you~ ^_~
feneryfenery on May 27th, 2005 05:27 pm (UTC)

^-^ I WANNA KEEP 'EM ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL~

But but but....

I can't. I burned them all anyway because they fit, but.... @.@ I don't know. Will not show them all. Because then I won't talk.

And... the point of panel is to talk. >.>;;; I... think? ^^;;;
{ m a r i }mastamari on May 27th, 2005 06:10 pm (UTC)
what survived in mari's weeding:
Dune - As if in a dream [EM]or[/EM] kaze no yukue (the song is not as good, but the PV is much better conceptually/visually)
Tierra - Blurry Eyes <--prob'ly a must
heavenly - and She Said <--too much hotness to pass up
True - Lies and Truth <--[EM]maybe...[/EM]
HEART - niji <--'nother must
ark - DIVE TO BLUE
ray - shinsoku ~lose control~ <--shows how versatile they are musically
REAL - STAY AWAY <-- THE DANCING!! THE DANCING!!
Clicked Singles Best 13 - Anemone
SMILE - READY, STEADY, GO

that list still might be too long. what [EM]exactly[/EM] are you doing?
{ m a r i }mastamari on May 27th, 2005 06:19 pm (UTC)
oh wait...you've already burned 'em all.

anyway, if you can't show all of them, show the audience the PVs that are sure to catch their attention, ones that showcase how versatile l'arc is musically and visually.
{ m a r i }mastamari on May 27th, 2005 06:31 pm (UTC)
that way, you might cover a larger gamut of people...

a larger gamut to convert into LARUKU FANS!!!

*spaz*
Stephaniemirroredsakura on May 30th, 2005 12:01 am (UTC)
I hope so~

>.>;; Then again, the good majority of my audience (well, at least I had an audience, ne? ;p) decided that the one thing they knew about the band was: "THEY'RE HOOOOT~"

^.^
{ m a r i }mastamari on May 30th, 2005 05:55 am (UTC)
. . . .

*sigh*
Stephaniemirroredsakura on May 30th, 2005 04:04 pm (UTC)
^^;; That's what I said.
aylengyraylengyr on May 28th, 2005 07:07 pm (UTC)
I'd be happy to help, but Im really stupid about these kinds of things, Humm, I agree with your choices except I think you should probably put in a live, Hyde and Larc live is worth a lot of PVs in my opinion. Personally I think lives are a lot more valuable to show the real character of the band. Oh and ready steady go is so overplayed, why not pick something more rare? Like uh well I dunno but something rare I say! hehe. I said I was bad at this stuff!
Stephaniemirroredsakura on May 29th, 2005 11:48 pm (UTC)
*sigh* Well, over and done with anyway... X_x..
